Xia Gao, Assistant Professor of Textiles, Clothing & Design

Xia Gao joined the UNL faculty and Visual Literacy program in 2007. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has a Master of Engineering degree in Apparel Design and BA degree in Fashion Design from Donghua University (formerly China Textile University) in Shanghai. Gao was a faulty member of the School of Art and Design in Dunghua University before she moved to U.S. Her work has been previously supported by several awards from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her textile installation explores cultural adaptation and transformation through the interplay between textile and space.
